Elizabeth Rhodes, age 78 of Fayetteville, went to her heavenly home on July 21, 2026.
Born on December 4, 1947, she was a daughter of the late William and Juanita Osborne and wife of the late Thomas Rhodes. She was preceded in death by her brother Ed Osborne, mother-in-law Betty Rhodes, sisters-in-law Judy Osborne, Linda Winebrenner and Renae White, and nephew Joseph Osborne.
She was the loving mother of Valeria Carte (Kenneth) and Cheryl Rhodes (Ashley), the best grandmother to Caleb Bailes and Faith Pomeroy (Ian), and great grandmother to Ruby Davis and Grady Pomeroy, and step grandmother to Madison Carte.
Loving sister to Dana Osbone, Carolyn John (John), Fred Osborne (Carol), Jennifer Schmitt, Jeff Osborne (Sheila), and Robert Osborne (Sheryl). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Elizabeth retired from United Bank after more than thirty years of dedicated service. She was a member of Fayetteville Baptist Church where she found her joy directing the choir, playing piano, teaching Sunday School and Bible School, as well as helping wherever she could. She loved her church and her church family.
Elizabeth lived her life as a witness to her faith and was a true prayer warrior. She was the happiest sitting at her piano playing and singing hymns.
She loved to cook and made sure anyone that was around her had something to eat. She welcomed everyone with open arms and a loving heart, and her house felt like home to everyone.
Elizabeth will be greatly missed and was a light to all those who knew and loved her. Her favorite Bible verse was Romans 8:28: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
